Torsional decreases fluidic usage
David Allen, BSc, FRCS, FRCOphth, of the United Kingdom, presented the results of his study comparing BSS® sterile irrigating solution use with torsional phaco vs. traditional longitudinal phaco.
In his study, Mr. Allen concluded that with torsional phaco:
- 22 percent less BSS® sterile irrigating solution used
- Reduced repulsion
- Improved followability
